“Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder”
Margaret Wolfe Hungerford is credited with coining the exact phrase in her novel Molly Bawn, published in 1878.
It suggests that the definition of “Beauty” depends on who is looking and what they value.
A poet may see “Beauty” in a woman crying - the raw emotions honestly expressed… another may see “Beauty” in an action of Love or caring, or in the eyes of a baby - window to our soul? Who is doing the looking? What do they Love and Value?
So much beauty everywhere. Just a reminder to look around and be grateful. We are fortunate to be here on this beautiful planet.
If you look for Beauty, you will find it.
